Allied Health – Healthcare Support
Healthcare is one of the most in-demand careers in Ohio with more than 2,700 nursing assistant and nearly 5,000 nursing positions opening annually.†
Our Healthcare Support pathway prepares students for jobs in patient support. With additional certification, you’ll be ready to take one of the hundreds of available caregiver or CNA jobs in your community. Or, you can build on this training to begin a number of other healthcare careers like medical billing and coding, dental hygienist or nursing.
This pathway includes the following courses:
- Health Science & Technology
- Principles of Allied Health
- Medical Terminology
- Human Anatomy & Physiology
Students who complete AchievePoint’s Caregiver Core certification receive preferential consideration for employment with AchievePoint’s many employer partners.
Additional opportunities for training as a Pharmacy Technician are available to AchievePoint students who are interested in this pathway.
IT – Support
Pretty good with technology? Do you enjoy helping others figure out why their technology isn’t working? IT Support could be a great career for you! With about 600 job openings each year for support specialists, this is a great time to consider a career in IT†.
Completing our pathway in IT Support prepares you for a computer user support specialist position. These entry-level IT positions could be a great way to support additional education and training if you choose to pursue more complex careers in the IT space.

IT – Web Development
There’s an app for that…and someone has to build them. Web Development careers focus on building online interactive applications like mobile apps and websites. If you happen to to be good at art and are thinking about a career in graphic design, web-development know how makes you even more employable! Ohio companies look for about 200 web developers and close to 250 graphic designers a year†.

IT – Programming
Programmers use special language to communicate with technology. While careers in programming take more training than what we offer at AchievePoint, we can help you get started on your path to this high demand career in Ohio where employers search for about 1,000 programmers a year!†

Construction – Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing
Plumbers may be the target of many jokes, but pay to get your leaky sink fixed just once and you’ll realize that these so-called “dirty jobs” have high potential. While becoming an electrician or plumber requires an apprenticeship, we can get you started with some foundational courses and experiences that will prepare you for your next step, whether that’s general construction labor (1129 jobs available last year!) or specialized training for the more than 600 electrician jobs or nearly 350 plumbing positions available annually in OH.†

Construction – Carpentry, HVAC, and Maintenance
Do you like to put things together? Design things? Fix things that are broken? Work with your hands?
Our Carpentry, HVAC, and Maintenance pathway focuses on foundational principles of construction and architecture and prepare you for your next step, whether that’s general construction labor (1,129 jobs available last year!) or specialized training for more than 2,000 carpentry, hvac, and maintenance positions available annually in OH.†
The Carpentry, HVAC, and Maintenance pathway includes the following courses:

Manufacturing
Do you like to put things together? Work with your hands? Manufacturing careers are one of the best kept secrets in the state. With more than 3,500 available positions annually in OH†, these jobs provide a career pathway that includes benefits, livable wages, and on-the-job training opportunities to allow you to work your way up the career ladder quickly. And factories are becoming more high tech all the time – don’t be surprised if the factory you apply to uses robots and 3D printers!
The Manufacturing pathway includes the following courses:
- Manufacturing Operations
- Machine Tools
- Computer Integrated Manufacturing
- Pre-Engineering Technologies
Students who complete a Manufacturing pathway at AchievePoint will receive preferential hiring with AchievePoint’s manufacturing employer partners.
Logistics & Supply Chain
Logistics and Supply Chain Operations jobs are about finding the best way to do things and making sure things get done the same way every time. These are great jobs if you pay attention to details and like things done a certain way every time.
Logistics careers are booming in Ohio. Wal*Mart, Amazon, FedEx, UPS and Wendy’s are all hiring logistics and supply chain positions, with wages starting around $18/hour – that’s $36,000/year! There were 4,000 positions available in OH last year.†
The Logistics pathway courses will be available next year, but for now, you can work through the MSSC Logistics certification which will prepare you for preferential hiring with AchievePoint’s employer partners.
Business Services – Office Administration
There are nearly 3,000 customer service representative, paralegal, and marketing manager positions available every year in Ohio.† With the training you receive at AchievePoint in Office Administration, you’ll be prepared to go straight into employment or continue your education for one of these careers.
The Office Administration pathway includes the following courses:

Finance – Accounting
Ohio has a booming financial services industry, so if you’re good with numbers, completing the Finance pathway at AchievePoint could really pay off. You’ll learn the principles of accounting and business which could lead to additional training as a bookkeeper, accountant, auditor, financial services agent, or even a sales representative. There were 3500 jobs likes this last year in OH.†
The Accounting pathway includes the following courses:

Firefighting/EMT
Are you the first one on the scene when there’s a problem? Do you enjoy helping people and can think well when everything is in chaos? Firefighters and EMTs are first responders to emergencies. There are about 350 EMT jobs in OH annually.†
The Firefighting/EMT pathway includes the following courses:
- Foundations of Firefighting and Emergency Medical Services
- Homeland Security – Protecting America’s Critical Infrastructure
- Human Anatomy and Physiology
- Medical Terminology
Hospitality – Culinary Arts
500 positions a year are posted for food service workers in Ohio.† If you enjoy working with people, binge watch the FoodNetwork, or dream of being a cake artist, a career in Culinary Arts may be in your future.
The Culinary Arts pathway includes the following courses:
- Hospitality Fundamentals
- Catering and Banquet Service Operations
- Fundamentals of Food Production
- Restaurant Management
Optional certifications in food safety are available to students on this pathway.
Early Childhood Education
Do you enjoy working with young children? Have kids of your own and want to learn more about how to give them the best start possible? Early Childhood Education pathway leads to “careers” as a mom or dad or to the more formal careers in daycare, social work, or education.
The Early Childhood Education pathway includes the following courses:
- Foundations of Education and Training
- Child and Adolescent Development
- Early Childhood Education Principles
- Health, Safety, and Nutrition
Military
A career in the military means more than just serving your country and protecting our freedom here at home. You’ll work with a recruiter to figure out what branch of the military – and what job within that branch – plays to your strengths. With the training you receive in the military or the GI Bill to pay for college, you can re-enter civilian life with discipline and job skills valued by employers nationwide.
The Military Pathway includes the courses you’ll take for graduation, plus a number of activities to prepare you to be top recruitment material!
Career Development
Not sure what you want to do when you grow up? That’s okay – you still have plenty of time to explore and try things out and plan for your future. But there are some things you can learn today that will help you in any job. At AchievePoint, we call these things “Career-Ready Life Skills” and they include skills that will help you keep a job once you get it.
The Career Development Pathway at AchievePoint includes the following courses:
- Career Development
- Digital Literacy
- Financial Literacy
- Career Exploration
Completion of these courses will result in Career-Ready Life Skills Certificates which you can use during job interviews.
Post-Secondary Education
There are a lot of good jobs available to students who complete high school and some training – but not all! A four year degree is required if you want to be a teacher or a nurse, for example, and another two to three years of school is a must have if you have set your sights on becoming a lawyer or doctor.
The Post-Secondary Pathway at AchievePoint is designed to make sure you take the courses and tests you need to prepare for your post-secondary education or training. And AchievePoint partners closely with community colleges around the state and other institutions to make sure your post-secondary education is as flexible and affordable as you need it to be.
